When you’re traveling with kids, finding the right beach can make all the difference between a day that feels calm and magical… and one that feels like you’re melting in the sun while the beach toys drift away in the tide.
During our week in Aruba, we explored several beaches that were perfect for families — calm waters, soft sand, and spots to grab a snack or cool off. We also found a few that were stunning but required a bit more planning or patience.
This guide to the best Aruba beaches for kids shares which shores are safe, calm, and full of fun! I share real-life tips from our own family vacation so you can spend more time relaxing and less time planning!

Baby Beach – Calm, Shallow & Full of Island Charm
If you’re looking for a beach where little ones can safely splash and explore, Baby Beach is a must. Its lagoon-style shape keeps the water calm and shallow for quite a distance — which is ideal for kids gaining confidence in the ocean.

What You’ll Love:
Peace of mind — calm, protected waters that make swimming stress-free.
Convenient options for eating — snack shacks and small restaurants are right near the sand.
Fun for everyone — there’s palm trees for climbing, soft sand for castles, and plenty to see below the surface if your kids enjoy snorkeling!
Good to Know:
It can get busy, especially mid-day. We noticed a little debris and seaweed in spots (likely seasonal), but it didn’t take away from the fun. Arrive early to grab a shaded spot or pack a pop-up tent or umbrella! If your little ones are playing in the water, bring floaties, puddle jumpers, or a small inflatable ring to keep them comfortable in the water.

Why It’s Worth It:
Baby Beach is the kind of place where you can actually sit back, sip your drink, and watch your kids play safely!
Rodger’s Beach – Peaceful, Scenic & Perfect for Photos
Just around the corner from Baby Beach is Rodger’s Beach, which feels like a hidden gem! It’s quieter, with fewer crowds and incredibly clear turquoise water.

What You’ll Love:
Soft sand and gentle waves — which are perfect for wading and swimming together.
A slower pace — more space to spread out, relax, and unwind.
Picture-perfect setting — we loved it so much we did our family photoshoot here!
Good to Know:
There aren’t restaurants or restrooms nearby, so bring snacks, shade, and plenty of water. Pack everything in a mesh beach bag—which you can give a quick shake before heading "home" to get rid of excess sand! Plus it will:
✔️ Keep wet swimsuits and sandy toys separate
✔️ It's easy to rinse off at the beach
✔️ It's lightweight and breathable
Pro Tip: Toss a small dusting brush in your bag—it’s perfect for brushing sand off feet before getting in the rental car!
Why It’s Worth It:
If you want a peaceful afternoon with postcard-worthy views and happy, sandy-toed kids, Rodger’s Beach delivers every time.
Eagle Beach – Iconic & Beautiful, but Bring the Shade
Eagle Beach is one of Aruba’s most famous beaches — and for good reason! The sand is powder-soft, the water sparkles, and the Divi Divi trees make every photo look like a travel ad.

What You’ll Love:
Wide, open space — with plenty of room for sandcastle building and kite flying.
Easy rentals — grab beach chairs, umbrellas, or water toys on the spot.
Classic Aruba scenery — it’s one of those “wow” beaches you have to experience.
Good to Know:
When we visited, the sun was intense and natural shade was limited. The sand can get hot by mid-day, so water shoes or sandals are a must. If you plan to spend the afternoon, bring an beach tent or umbrella or visit earlier or later in the day for cooler weather. Also, make sure to pack UV-protective swimwear to minimize sun exposure.

Why It’s Worth It:
Eagle Beach is unforgettable — it’s where you go to soak in Aruba’s beauty, but with the right prep (shade and hydration!), it’s great for kids too.
💡 Pro Tip: Freeze aloe vera gel in ice cube trays for a refreshing after-sun skin treatment if anyone gets too much sun.
A Few Beaches to Approach with Caution
Not every beach in Aruba is ideal for young swimmers. These three are beautiful and worth visiting — just better for photos and exploring than swimming with kids. These spots are better suited for strong swimmers or a quick visit.
Dos Playa (Arikok National Park)
This beach has breathtaking cliffs and turquoise waves, but the strong surf and no lifeguards make it too risky for families. It's a great spot for sightseeing, but not for swimming.

Tip: Visit for the views, not the dip. Bring sun protection and sturdy shoes for exploring.
Boca Prins (Arikok National Park)
This beach has a dramatic coastline perfect for photos, but the rough currents and rocky shores make it unsafe for swimming.

Tip: Stop here for a short scenic walk, then head to Baby or Rodger’s Beach for calm water play!
Andicuri Beach (Northeast Coast)
This beach is known for its natural beauty and surf-friendly waves, this beach has strong undertows and limited facilities.

Tip: Best for quick visits or older kids who love adventure—bring plenty of water and shade.
Here are some things to consider when researching beaches:
Beaches with stronger surf can be dangerous and feel intimidating for younger kids.
Rocky shorelines make water shoes a must.
Limited facilities mean you’ll want to plan bathroom breaks and snacks ahead of time.
Why This Helps You:
Knowing which beaches are safe or need extra prep time keeps your day stress-free and helps you match your plans to your kids’ energy level.
Family Tips for Safer, Happier Beach Days!
After a week of exploring, here’s what we learned makes beach days smoother for everyone:
1. Pack smart for comfort: Bring a pop-up shade tent, cooling towels, and a portable fan. Aruba’s sun is strong!
2. Prioritize hydration: Frozen water bottles or insulated cups help keep everyone cool and refreshed.
3. Keep snacks simple: Fruit, crackers, and sandwiches travel well — and keep moods happy between swims.
4. Choose your timing wisely: Mornings and late afternoons are cooler, calmer, and often less crowded.
5. Embrace flexibility: If the sun gets too strong or the waves pick up, pivot. There’s always another great beach nearby!
Capture the Memories at Aruba Beaches for Kids
Some of our favorite family moments happened right on the sand — spontaneous giggles, snorkeling, and golden-hour photos.
If you’re a photo-lover, Rodger’s Beach offers the best light, while Baby Beach gives you lively, candid action shots your kids will love looking back on.

A Little Planning = A Lot More Fun
Every beach day in Aruba offered something different — adventure, laughter, and a little bit of learning about slowing down.
Baby Beach was the safe, easy option where our kids could explore with confidence. Rodger’s Beach became our peaceful escape, and Eagle Beach reminded us why Aruba is known for its endless beauty.

Whether your kids are first-time ocean swimmers or already little adventurers, these beaches prove that Aruba is one of the best family destinations in the Caribbean.
Pack your sunscreen, bring the snacks, and dive into island days filled with sunshine and smiles!
